A unofficial chronicle of our efforts to contribute to and manage a number of projects that are part of our “digital branch” of the Sonoma County Library (Calif.). We are the Cataloging and Metadata team for our library system (and for our consortial partners, Lake County Library and Mendocino County Library):

 Since joining the staff of SCL in 2007, I have worked extensively with a large and growing collection of digitized photographs which are available through the library catalog and a number of other digital collections. Building on a 2010 grant project for the Califa Library Group to create a collection of digital objects for Calisphere and the California Digital Library, I created the Sonoma Heritage Collections to make our digitized photos, texts, audio and video available to the world.  With my colleagues, we continue the work of transforming all of our digital resources into a true digital library that allows our many interesting and valuable special collections to seen and enjoyed by anyone anywhere.
